MINDLESS

MEANING

“Soonsein has tried to disregard the historical understanding of printmaking as a medium of small formats and offers a truly monumental approach that uses experimental painterly qualities. During the production process, the author carried out an in depth self-analysis, but also tried to avoid the constant re-composing or re-conceptualising of the works.”

The artist explains: “I value the role of the viewer and their influence on the observed. I don’t want to direct this synthesis with my own ideas. Everybody sees and finds their own projection which means that the thing that is observed originates from them. I only offer a beginning that leaves room for everybody’s thoughts but lacks a prescribed right or wrong answer.”
